On the occasion of World Food Day, the director of the Student Center at the University of Mostar, Anita Glibić, alongside her colleague Maja Vrančić, took to the kitchen of the student restaurant.
Based on the students’ preferences, the restaurant was filled with the aroma of Italian cuisine. Carbonara and pizza turned out to be an excellent choice, with many asking for second servings.
After cooking, the dedicated team moved to the serving line, where they handed out meals to students, engaging them with conversation and laughter.
Italian music added to the atmosphere, and from talking to students, we learned they were thrilled with the lunch and insisted that carbonara be permanently added to the menu.
“This is the second year I’ve had the opportunity to cook with our chefs, who prepare over 1,000 meals daily for our students, which is no small task. A big and deep bow to all our chefs and support staff who work in the student restaurant. Today, we fulfilled our students’ wish for Italian food by cooking carbonara and pizzas. Judging by their delighted reactions, laughter, and fun, this project, where the director cooks for the students, has proven to be a huge success. It’s an honor for me to cook alongside our chefs and to serve meals to our students. Today’s project was another opportunity to talk with students and hear firsthand their comments, whether compliments or constructive feedback, as well as their wishes for improving and expanding the menu. Every project we do with our students aims to enhance the quality of student life and, within our means, meet their desires. This is just one of the projects we’re doing for students. We have an exciting academic year ahead, with many projects for both our student residents and all University of Mostar students. We invite all students who haven’t yet had the chance to join us in the coming period. We’re looking forward to it!" said director Glibić.
