Graduation Ceremony of 211 Graduates at FSRE on the Occasion of the Faculty’s 65th Anniversary
18.12.2024

In celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Computing, and Electrical Engineering (FSRE) at the University of Mostar, a grand graduation ceremony was held for 211 new Master's and Bachelor's graduates. The ceremony took place at the Croatian House of Herceg Stjepan Kosača, accompanied by musical performances by the FSRE Band.

Speeches were delivered by the Vice-Rector for Business Affairs, Human Resources, and Quality Management at the University of Mostar, Prof. Dr. Zdenko Klepić, student representative Zoran Injić, and the Dean of the Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Davorka Šaravanja. In her address, the Dean emphasized the importance of strengthening the quality of education at the Faculty despite challenging conditions and underscored the need for faster adaptation to technological changes. "Despite the challenges, especially financial ones, we at the Faculty are committed to enhancing the quality of education, focusing on teaching and scientific work. However, I must stress that the University, of which this Faculty is a part, must play a more active and significant role in improving the working conditions of its employees. The Faculty, with its long tradition and reputation, is fully dedicated to societal welfare, contributing to the education of professionals who are ready to continue advancing technological development and digitalization processes. Still, we must acknowledge that we cannot fully keep pace with the speed of changes brought about by high technologies in recent years. It is even harder to accept that working in a small and poor country reliant on traditional industries without innovation makes it difficult to maintain positions, let alone grow. We hope that among you, there will be those who will change this situation and use your knowledge to bring about changes in our environment," concluded the Dean, wishing the graduates much success and happiness in the future.

During the ceremony, the Dean's Awards were presented to the top students, along with certificates of recognition for extracurricular activities and contributions to promoting the Faculty. The musical part of the ceremony was performed by students from FSRE and the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Mostar—Josip Šaravanja, Josip Zovko, Karlo Jovanović, Mihael Šimić, and Emanuel Musa—who performed as the FSRE Band.

Special plaques for significant contributions to social and economic development were awarded to prominent companies and individuals, including:

  • IBM Company and Director Mr. Robert Blatnik
  • Zagrebinspekt d.o.o. and Director Mr. Sandro Zovka
  • Globalsoft d.o.o. and Director Mr. Luka Bjelica
  • Humanitarian Association Mate Mišetić, President Mrs. Nera Mišetić
  • Alfa Therm d.o.o. and Director Mr. Renato Lasić
  • TeamWork Company and Directors Tihomir Pandža and Bruno Dankić

Gratitude for their contribution to the development of the Faculty was also extended to partners from the Republic of Croatia and the Federal Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, especially Mrs. Vahida Krekić. In addition, thank-you certificates were awarded to companies that successfully collaborated with the Faculty, including Galileo, Emerus, and Deltron, and their representatives.

This ceremony symbolizes the continued tradition and commitment of the Faculty to the development of the technological sector, digitalization, and the education of future professionals.
