A Literary Fun Day for Young Blossoms, Friends, and Parents – the traditional Children's Day at the Mostar Spring Festival was held in the packed Queen Katarina Kosača Gallery.
The rich program featured Ivana Ćurić, Sonja Škobić, Radica Leko, Miljenka Koštro, Miro Naletilić, Miro Petrović, and special guest Šimo Ešić. The joyful children were guided through yet another Children's Day along with the authors, long-time collaborators of the literary and educational magazine for children and youth "Cvitak," by the main secretary of Matica Hrvatska Mostar, Misijana Brkić-Milinković.
"Another Cvitak's Literary Fun Day, Children's Day at the Mostar Spring Festival, was marked by the interaction between children and their favorite authors from Cvitak. Everyone received their own copy of Cvitak, and interestingly, they all wanted the April issue featuring Baby Lasagna on the centerfold, which led to some dancing in the rhythm of Rim Tim Tagi Dim among the youngest. Thanks to our authors who contributed with their songs and stories about ecology and the importance of protecting our environment and planet Earth. Special thanks to Šimo Ešić, who traveled from Wuppertal just for Cvitak's day, and was showered with numerous questions from the children," said Misijana Brkić-Milinković.
"It’s wonderful to be back in Mostar, spending time with the youngest, and I was most delighted by their questions. They were so creative and interesting. I promised to return to Mostar, and even visit their schools, so we can have another lovely gathering like today. Thanks to the hardworking team of Matica and Cvitak for the invitation and this beautiful day, especially to my friend Miro Petrović, to whom I promised I would come, and here I am," said special guest Šimo Ešić.
At the end of the event, the beloved poet handed out bookmarks with his autograph to all the young attendees of Children's Day – a memento of Cvitak's Literary Fun Day. Children's Day at Mostar Spring 2024 – the 26th Days of Matica Hrvatska was organized in collaboration with the associations Cvit and Zdravo društvo Mostar.
