ARS SACRA is an international scientific conference organized for the fourth consecutive year by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Mostar. The aim of the conference is to present current research on sacred art, spanning all periods from the emergence of Christianity to the present day, within various academic disciplines, artistic styles and techniques, key figures, and media through which the theme of sacred art continues to pulse dynamically.
This year’s conference is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the death of Ivo Dulčić (1916–1975).
Experts in Christian art, visual arts, architecture, literature, theology, music, history, and other related fields are invited to apply.
The official language of the conference is Croatian. Presentations are limited to 15 minutes. The conference will take place on November 20 and 21, 2025, at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Mostar.
Proposals (up to 800 characters including spaces) should include the presenter’s full name and institutional affiliation and be submitted by September 15, 2025, to: ars.sacra@sum.ba. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by October 15, 2025.
After the conference, all participants are required to submit their papers for publication in the conference proceedings. Submission guidelines will be provided in due time.
