How many electric vehicle chargers are there in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and how do the charging prices vary?
28.02.2024

Regarding charging costs, they are defined within the framework of the Law on Electricity of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is stipulated that the charging should be within reasonable limits and not deviate too much from the market price of electricity. The fairest way to calculate charging according to EU directives must be expressed in kW.

"The average charging price per kWh in EU countries on AC chargers is 0.40 KM / kWh, while on DC chargers, depending on the charging power, it ranges from 0.60 KM - 1.20 KM / kWh," Muratović pointed out.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, fast chargers are necessary on highways, and soon MOON POWER chargers could be found there.

"So far, we have installed 2 DC chargers with a power of 150 kW in Sarajevo. We plan to install more fast chargers in the regions of Tešanj, Mostar, and central Bosnia this year. Next year, we also plan to continue expanding the network of fast chargers throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina," he said.

Currently, there are 350 chargers installed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is far from sufficient. Of these, only 15 are fast chargers. Unfortunately, not all of them are publicly accessible.

"We need at least an additional 10 DC super-fast chargers and 100 AC chargers, publicly available. Due to increased interest in purchasing electric vehicles, accelerated infrastructure development is needed," Muratović concluded.
