The Medical Library of the University Clinical Hospital (SKB) Mostar is open to students of the Faculty of Health Studies and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Mostar, as well as to all employees of the SKB. The library provides access to a wide collection of books, digital resources, and various services, and is located in the extended building of the Medical Supply Service, near the Oncology Clinic.
The Medical Library of SKB Mostar is situated in the extended facility of the Medical Supply Service (hospital pharmacy), near the Oncology Clinic, and within the same building are the Department for Procurement, Control, and Distribution of Food, and the Nutrition Counseling Service.
The library is designed as a center for managing knowledge resources that support clinical practice, enhance the quality of patient treatment services in the hospital, and foster scientific and research activities. It is open to all employees of SKB Mostar, including medical, scientific, and teaching staff, nurses, as well as other healthcare, medical, and non-medical personnel, as well as students from the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Health Studies at the University of Mostar, interns, and specialists.
The Medical Library enables efficient access to scientific resources that support professional, developmental, and scientific-research work, and trains users to utilize available information sources.
The library is located in a peaceful environment that is comfortable for staying and motivating for the exchange and enhancement of knowledge. It offers five computers, a secured Wi-Fi network, a projector with a screen, and a digital printer for copying and scanning literature, creating promotional materials, and other activities. The current book collection includes 1,000 medical titles, an extensive collection of scientific papers in Croatian available in a digital archive, distribution of over 30 different medical journals, and access to medical database search engines, including the HINARI journal database (Research4Life), a project of the World Health Organization.
Additionally, those interested in gaining new knowledge in the field of pediatric surgery are informed that, in an initiative by the director of the University Clinical Hospital Mostar, a campaign for the free distribution of the book "Selected Chapters in Pediatric Surgery" by Šime Vučkov and Ante Kvesić (2005 edition) has been launched at the Library. The SKBM Monograph is also available for users to view.
