Marija Milinković from Bosnia and Herzegovina has become one of the top players for Milan’s Inter, earning her status as a key member of the team through her exceptional performances. As the only player to have played every minute since joining the club in February 2024, Milinković has achieved significant success, participating in 28 matches, including 26 in Serie A and two in the Cup. Her hard work, discipline, and dedication have not gone unnoticed, and Marija is a role model for young female athletes across the Balkans.
“For me, every match is an opportunity to show my love for football and how much I am willing to give for my team. This season is special, and I am looking forward to everything that is yet to come,” said Marija, who is regularly included in the Serie A team of the week.
When asked what it means to be the only Inter player to have played every minute of the season, Marija replied: “Honestly, I don’t focus too much on statistics – my manager loves them, but I’m proud of this fact. It shows how physically and mentally prepared I am to meet the demands of this season. However, for me, the most important thing is to give my best in every training session and match, because that’s the key to the team’s success.”
She emphasizes that the key to her success lies in daily work, discipline, and a desire to improve. “I focus on training and physical preparation, but also on tactical understanding of the game. With the great support of my family, especially my brother, who is my biggest motivation, I can fully dedicate myself to football.”
Reflecting on Inter’s performances in the 2024/25 season, Marija believes the team is on the right track. “Inter is having the best season in the club’s history. Although we’ve had a few unfortunate moments, we learn from them and come out stronger. The atmosphere in the team is fantastic, we all have the same goal, and the coaching staff is guiding us in the right direction.”
Looking back at the atmosphere in the club, Marija says: “Inter is special. It’s a club with incredible tradition and the dedication of the people who support us. On the pitch, we play for them and for the mutual support within the team. That’s what inspires me – the feeling that we are part of a big family that breathes as one.”
Marija is also focused on high goals. “Our primary goal is to win the Serie A title because we believe we have the quality for it. The Champions League is a big dream, and I am sure that Inter will soon be among the teams fighting for the European title,” concluded Marija.
